Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with
singing! Psalm 100:1-2
Without exaggeration, I can say that 2017 was one of the EPRC singing band’s most significant years.
The Singing band finally blossomed into its full flower that year. The group was inaugurated in June 2014 and has blessed the entire congregation with music almost every Sunday. We have a membership of thirty, of which twenty-two are active. The group meets on Saturdays at six pm for singing practice; we also use social media to communicate effectively. With the help of the Session and members of the church, the group hosted one of the most successful annual National Singing Band conferences in North American history in April 2018. Without a doubt, many of us participated in support of God’s work, every group has its challenges, and this group is tremendously challenged with meetings, membership drives, and Finances. Despite all these challenges, we were
able to raise funds and support our partners, who invited us to various programs.
In 2018, the group took an enormous step towards becoming what it has always sought to become—a vital, reproducing, gospel-loving, growing family of this congregation.
Last April, during the group’s annual conference, Zipporah Opara and Bryndon Sam were two of the EPRC Singing Band members, chosen by the meeting to be sponsored each year. Our mission for the upcoming year is that while we have been on the move for over 10 years, we hope our momentum and mission as a group will only increase throughout the years ahead. Again, we also love numbers because we believe that every number has a name, every name has a story, and every story matters to God.
We will continue to reach out for a membership drive. We cannot look back at previous years without
celebrating the group’s beautiful performances and efforts in the church. With that being said, we strive to be a welcoming, warm group, and we hope you sense that while you’re with us. We overwhelmingly thank you all for your help and support.
